Movember

November 12th, 2008 by admin

I’m growing a mustache during the month of November for charity. I would have posted a real photo, but the lighting in my apartment at night makes it impossible to see without taking an uncomfortably close photo of my upper lip. Yum.

Here are the details:

During November I’m growing a mustache. That’s right I’m bringing the Mo back because I’m passionate about tackling men’s health issues and being proactive in the fight against prostate cancer. Actually, you know that “passionate” thing is a lie since I made no mention of an open bar or free food. However, it seems like a great cause, and I get to spend a month growing a mustache.

Also guys, feel free to do join in on this too if you feel like growing a mustache and asking around for donations for men’s butt health.

To donate to my Mo (stupid aussie slang for mustache) you can either:

      1. Click this link and donate online using your credit card or PayPal account, or
      2. Write a check payable to the ‘Prostate Cancer Foundation’, referencing my Registration Number 1817206 and mailing it to:

Prostate Cancer Foundation
Attn: Movember
1250 Fourth St
Santa Monica, CA, 90401

All donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

The money raised by Movember is donated directly to the Prostate Cancer Foundation which will use the funds for high-impact research to find better treatments and a cure for prostate cancer.

Did you know:

  • Prostate cancer is the most common non-skin cancer in the US with one in six American men developing the disease and more than 28,000 men dying of the disease every year.
  • African American men and those with a family history of prostate cancer are twice as likely to develop the disease and should have regular annual testing starting at 45. All other men should commence testing at 50.
  • Prostate cancer is 90% curable if detected and treated early.
  • I would look really stupid with a mustache.

Thanks for your support,

Tim.

Election 08!

November 11th, 2008 by admin

I don’t think there is any harm is saying this is an amazingly positive moment in American history.
I need to figure out what to do with my time since I’ve spent the last 18 months reading non-stop election news coverage.

Now for the people printing t-shirts with “Palin 2012-2020″ on them, I would beg you to look up “inauguration day” on a calender. That sort of mistake does seem kind of appropriate, though.
