Catwoman is on AMC right now. I didn’t know the name “American Movie Classics” was supposed to be ironic.

    Fatty Ding-dongs

    May 29th, 2007 by Tim

People say it is a lifestyle and not just a diet. In that case, I hate my lifestyle.

For anyone who didn’t know me, I used to weigh about 310lbs. I know, I know. I was adorable. I’ve posted the picture before, but I’ll drag it out again for laughs:

    Before and After

It appeared as if the old me got a time machine, went into the future, and devoured the new me. You can’t really see it, but he’s also wearing a cool polyester print shirt. The new smaller me is wearing a hoodie from Wal-mart, so they are clearly the same person with no comprehension of style.

That skinnier me was 185lbs. For my build, that is actually pretty small. I’m tall, have a large frame, and my bones are made of heavy rocks. My head is also enormous and accounts for 40% of my gross body weight. I have long since rebounded about 30lbs and maintained that weight without much trouble. I’m not a mess of ham and snausages, but I could certainly stand to lose some weight for my health.

Now that my thesis is completed and I practically have a Masters Degree in Fine Art, I need some new thing in my life to stress about besides work. That new thing will be my weight! HUZZAH!

I lost weight before using stolen information from the Weight Watcher’s points program. My mom did the program for real, and I just read her material and did it on my own. I’ll be trying this again to start, and maybe trying some newer different stuff later. I will be exercising by jogging. Maggie is trying to talk me into weights, but I hate weights. I may try the stupid Wii Sports workout since I own Wii Sports and haven’t played it in two months despite it being totally wicked awesome.

I’ll be starting the diet on June 2nd, and I’ll be posting updates about it as things progress.

    What is going on?

    May 22nd, 2007 by Tim

I’m pretty sure the thesis is all wrapped up, and I don’t have to worry about that ever again. I’m still trying to find out how long it actually takes to physically receive my Masters of Fine Art degree, but I “have” it now or in just a few days when the current semester wraps up and grades are processed. I’ll feel better about it once I see it in writing in an official letter or my actual degree.

Today is Maggie’s last day at work, and she’ll be moving here early next week. Very exciting. We both then have to move somewhere else in a month. That is less exciting. My apartment complex is pretty lame, and the timing of the lease just worked out this way.

I’m still pitching some stuff around in hopes someone will pay this monkey to dance. One contract thing has been settled, and it looks like I’ll have a little something to tell you about new animation in a couple of weeks.

Here is a pug falling asleep:

Fred Phelps is going to protest Jerry Falwell’s funeral

    May 15th, 2007 by Tim

I try to avoid the dangerous topics of religion and politics on my attempt at a professional blog, but I cannot help playing my hand a little today.

For those of you not in the know, that nice old man who saved us from the gay agenda of Teletubbies, Jerry Falwell, died today.

Like the title said, “God hates America” fundie Fred Phelps, the kind soul of “God hates Fags” fame, is going to protest the funeral of Jerry Falwell. They both hated homosexuals, but apparently, Jerry just didn’t hate enough other groups of people.

Short of a big pride parade in his honor, I can’t think of a more hilarious send off.

    Home again

    May 14th, 2007 by Tim

I just got back to Atlanta from a two week stay in sunny and sometimes smokey Macon.

I’m still anxiously waiting on confirmations that my thesis has been accepted and graded by all the important people who do all that business. The semester is over in just a couple of weeks, and if everything were not wrapped up by then, it could be several months before I got my degree. Not physically being in Savannah makes this whole process quite frustrating.

Otherwise, I’ve had a good day. I have a contract to mull over for some Mistor related animations, some pitches for new cartoons, and the government of Georgia has been nice enough to give me (back) some money. I’ve also applied for a few freelance gigs here and there. It isn’t a huge secret that I have been in something of a slump for the last few months, and it would be nice if some money could start coming in again, as opposed to only going out.

Thesis Thesis Bo-Besis Banana Fana Fo Fecis

    May 7th, 2007 by Tim

Everything that could go wrong today, happily, did not.

I got to Savannah without any delays and located all my professors needed to sign off on my final thesis paper.

There was a small mistake on the signature page of my thesis, but the person at the library said they would let it pass. I guess they missed it on Jeff’s signature page. I used a reworked version of his.

I’ve done everything I can. I guess now I call the grad office in a week and see if that is all there is to it.
