Alien versus Predator

January 29th, 2005 by lol

I watched “Alien versus Predator” today. Why is Paul W.S. Anderson allowed to keep making movies? This is like the directorial version of the van Damn effect. No matter how awful the last project was, he keeps getting work. Weird.

I realized in writing this he wrote Resident Evil II. I should have known. I’m tempted to call him the worst filmmaker I have ever seen, but I think I owe it to myself to watch an Uwe Boll movie. I hear I haven’t seen bad until I see one of his works.

    I should be doing homework.

I also changed my logo. I’m no designer, but I think it looks better.

    Group Comic #2

We’ve produced an other comic. I’m only responsible for about half of the gross content. You can click it for a bigger version in my portfolio.

    Improv comic strip

    January 26th, 2005 by lol

We have a white board in the house now for me and my roommates to just draw stupid things on. I noticed that with all of us trying to get our funny onto every new drawing, the board always became a rather busy collage. Bleh.

In an attempt to bring order to the chaos, I had an idea where we would make comic strips. I’m sure I stole that idea from somewhere, but let’s just assume I’m really inspired. The comics would work like this: One person (this time it was me) would draw the first from of a comic, and then different roommates would do subsequent frames. The way it worked out, I wound up doing the starter frame and frame 4. Everything else was Adam, Rick, and even Sarah.

I seem to love 3D bouncing balls

    Bouncing Ball character animation

Here’s a small project I finished last week for a character animation class. It is up on my porfolio.

The link to the video is on the bottom of that page.

Later this week I’ll have some storyboards up. Hurray beer.

The wave of book suggestions is almost too much to keep up with. I know you jerks read.

So yesterday I went out and bought a cheap webcam so Cacie and I can talk to each other like we’re in the Jetson’s future. Everytime I tell someone this they just go “Rriiiiiiiight”. Whatever, moving on. After 3 hours of hitting it with a hammer, it seems my computer is functionally broken. It will not install the camera, there are phantom devices that just come back if I uninstall them in my device manager, I cannot update my BIOS, and I cannot boot to safe mode. I’m out of ideas, aside from a fresh install of XP. Nothing important is broken so that’ll have to wait until this weekend when I have time for reinstalling everything. Oh well.

I’m going to put up a simple bouncing ball 3d animation today or tomorrow. Seems all I do is bouncing balls. There will be some actual bipedal characters later this semester. Besides, I don’t think I have put up anything new since the rotoscope thing.

My group project from last semester is looking quite nice. If we knock out some animation bugs, it is looking good for Siggraph.

I’m currently cleaning my filthy room, and putting off a storyboard project due in 7 hours or so.
